Privacy policy

When you save tabs, TabShelf stores each tab's web address (URL) and page title, plus the groups you create (their names, whether they are starred or locked, and when they were created), in your browser's local extension storage. It also stores your settings. This data stays on your device unless you sign in.

Signing in is optional. If you sign in, TabShelf stores the following in its cloud database so it can sync your saved tabs between your devices:

• Account details: your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the basic profile information Google provides (your name and profile picture).
• Your saved tabs: the URLs, page titles and groups described above, and the times they were created or changed.

If you sign up with an email and password, your password is sent securely to our authentication provider and stored only as a salted hash. TabShelf never sees or stores it in readable form.

TabShelf does not read the content of web pages, track which sites you visit, or collect tabs you have not chosen to save.

This data is used only to provide TabShelf's features: showing your saved tabs and syncing them between your devices. We do not use it for advertising, analytics, profiling or any other purpose, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties, except for the service providers below that run the service.

• Supabase hosts TabShelf's database and handles sign-in. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and each account can only access its own data.
• Google handles “Continue with Google” sign-in if you choose to use it.

• Deleting a tab or group in TabShelf removes it from all your synced devices.
• Signing out keeps a copy of your saved tabs on that device only. Removing the extension deletes all of its local data from that browser.
• To delete your account and all synced data, open TabShelf, click the sync status button, then choose Delete account. This removes your account and synced tabs from our servers immediately. You can also email us at the address below and we will delete it within 30 days.

TabShelf's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the extension.
